Exhibition of Monotypes at Davidson Galleries

A selection of my watercolor monotypes of Pacfic Northwest landscapes will be exhibited at Davidson Galleries in Seattle from October 3 - November 2. The opening reception is from 6-8 pm. I will be giving an artist talk and demo on the watercolor monotype process on Saturday, October 5 from 2-4.

Work from my sabbatical (Fall 2017-Spring 2018) is on display from March 1-17 at in the Minneapolis College of Art & Design Concourse Gallery.

Opening Reception: Friday, March 1, 6:00–8:00 p.m. 

The exhibition features two different series: drawings from my recently published book, Parts: Auto Salvage Drawings 2014-2017 , and watercolor monotype prints of the Pacific Northwest landscape made in collaboration with Highpoint Center for Printmaking.

I will also be giving a talk on my sabbatical work at MCAD on Wednesday, March 13th at 12:00 pm in Auditorium 140.

Upcoming Exhibition at Highpoint Center for Printmaking

For the past six months I have been working with the Highpoint Center for Printmaking on a series of monotype prints depicting the landscape of the Pacific Northwest, a subject I began exploring in 2017 with a series of drawings entitled "Shadows & Reflections".  

An exhibition of selected monotypes from the series will open at Highpoint on September 21st.  For more information, visit the Highpoint website.


Book Release & Exhibition Opening

Groveland Gallery in Minneapolis will be exhibiting work from my new book, Parts / Auto Salvage Drawings 2014-2017.  The show will run from February 24-March 31, 2018.  

There will be an opening and book release party at the gallery on Saturday, February 24 from 2-5 pm.  In addition, Christopher Atkins (curator at the Minnesota Museum of American Art and author of the book's essay) will join me at the gallery on Thursday, March 22 at 7pm for a discussion about the work and the book project.

Work on cover of drawing textbook

My drawing, "Magnet," is featured as the cover image of the 4th Edition of "Drawing: Space, Form and Expression" by Wayne Enstice and Melody Peters.  Another drawing, "Scrap Engines #1," is illustrated in the text.
